You may wonder why Coffee of Origin is so special. Irma and I discovered that this one type of Arabica bean, a varietal called Caturra, creates a wonderfully smooth cup of coffee. Unlike other coffees, we decided to keep the taste pure by not diluting it with any other beans. We are a single origin coffee.

Irma and I are also both sticklers for details. Of the 32 coffee growing regions in Colombia, only five meet the qualities we look for in our Caturra beans. Currently, we are purchasing from the Santander region from farms that use only time-honored, natural methods that are pesticide free to cultivate their coffee.

Each bean is hand-picked, hand-sorted, hand-selected and only then roasted in Colombia. We’re so particular, we had a roasting machine custom built to Irma’s design specifications. The roaster for Coffee of Origin studies under Irma to learn to identify the qualities of the Coffee of Origin bean and also how to roast it to perfection. After the coffee is roasted, Irma then tests it personally using the age old cupping process to make sure that meets all of the characteristics of a Coffee Of Origin product.

We believe in our coffee. If you ever have a question or concern, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly at carlos@coffeeoforigin.com
